You wish you would only be there all day. I spent countless hours filing away on that darned thing and barely put a dent in it. The way my rail measured up it needed in the area of .065-.070 removed and the rails themselves weren't much over .075. So this dictates that I needed to remove .030+ from each rail to make it work. In the end I ordered up a $35.00 60 degree dovetail bit to cut them with and promptly shattered it  In the end I managed to get one of the rails done and I have two of these that I am building. I'm also figuring out that getting Plinker's jig in there to do the rear most rivets in the front trunion is a bit of a challenge as well.

I filed the scope clamp to fit my Romak. Soft alloy, garden variety file. My only worry is if the scope had a problem, would I have voided any warranty it may have had.

can you say die grinder?? it took about 20 min to rough it out and 30 min to finish up. it is still prety tight but I guess that is good. also you will find you have to adjust the adjust nut some. it is close but it will make it fine.
