a "G" on the side of the front sight block, fore grip with a pistol grip, last big kit supply that venders recived.... still an AK. muttman
100% correct. I have received G parts kits with all the FA parts though. The only functional difference is that "G" rifles had a disconnector made without the "tail" that permits full automatic fire and were semiautomatic fire only.
Agree with everything except the part about no arrow in triangle. Early "G" and non-G had it, later "G" and non-G did not.The "G" rifles were built for the Romanian equivalent of the National guard. The rifles had the "G" on the rear sight block and a black stripe on the stock at the buttplate for indentification. "G" rifles built after 1980 also have a "S" in the serial number after the year of manufacture and do not have the arrow in the triangle arsenal mark. The only functional difference is that "G" rifles had a disconnector made without the "tail" that permits full automatic fire and were semiautomatic fire only.
Most of the AKM rifles issued to the Romanian military had the vertical foregrip.
If it never left the government warehouse, the military never clipped the disconnecter.100% correct. What I said was that "G" rifles MADE AFTER 1980 do not have the arrow in the triangle. I guess I should have added the following: Those made before 1980 have the arrow in the triangle. Some made during 1980 have it, others don't. AFAIK no one has been able to determine the exact date during 1980 that the change was made.Agree with everything except the part about no arrow in triangle. Early "G" and non-G had it, later "G" and non-G did not.
I have examples of both.
The Yugo is the only "odd man out" on the stamped AK food chain.Tks for the replies. So, it is not functionally different. I just wanted to make sure it took the standard sized accessories (beryl rail, stock parts, etc.) and AK reciever. Unlike a Yugo for instance.
