Here is where I am at.
Things to do:
1) Pin front site, rear site and gas block.
2) Drill rear stock screw.
3) Change piston.
4) Fill all the damage that I caused to the receiver.
5) Prep receiver and metal parts for finish.
6) Paint.
7) Install shepards's hook.

8) Buy a few of hicap's 45-round conversion mags for the right look ;)

Looks very nice - I'm envious!

Joeken :scared: has them. They are made out of two East German bakelite magazines.
If I remember right, joeken sells some of hicaps magazine conversions. or he used to sell direct if I remember right.

Hicap had a website but I'm pretty sure it's down. He had some pretty cool stuff though, haven't been to gunsnet in months so it's hard to say if he's still on the boards.

Of anything joeken has to offer, I'd go for some of his (Hicap's) mags if they have them. The originals get harder and harder to find for a reasonable price.

BTW, the project looks fantastic so far! Some of you guys get farther with new builds quicker than I do with modifying existing rifles. One of these days.... :chinese:
