What parts does the RPK share with the AKM? I'm talking about only the 7.62 version. Really wondering about the gas tube, gas piston, recoil spring, bolt/carrier........................TIA, Taipan :mchngun:

Same parts so far as I know...

Barrel is longer and has a larger outer diameter. Beefier receiver on the RPK.

The parts you mentioned should interchange freely.

The RPK receiver is beefier with the additional material being on the inside. It reduces the width of the front and rear trunnions by about 1/20th of an inch.

The fire control group; bolt and carrier; return spring and piston; and gas tube are common with the AKM. The gas tubes I have seen have generally been ventilated. The front lower hand guard and retainer are different.

And obviously, because of the increased outer barrel diameter, the front site; gas block; etc. are not interchangeable.

Because of the different dimensions of the trunnions, particularly the bulge in the front, the standard receiver won't work.

I've put together a few of them. Let me know if I can help.

The old #'s were you buy 5 and get 1 or 2 good ones. By now though, I'm sure they've been picked through.

The strange thing is that they seem to offer the same thing at $50 and $100.
