Well here goes another perfectly redone job bought a SA-M 5S in 223 but it just does not look right so a venture in to getting it as close as the original as I could, so tell me if you notice the difference on this rifle. :thumbup1:

I've got a question about that muzzle break. I have a SA-M5S that I want to post-post-ban sometime after Sept 14. Did you replace the whole FSB along with the break, or did you just replace the break? I've ordered a Bulgarian AK-74 FSB (24mm threads) and a US-made AK-74 style muzzle break, but I'm unsure if I did the right thing. The Bulgarian AK-74 FSB that K-Var sells fits right?

Yes my friend you did the right thing, by buying original Bulgy FSB. I replaced the whole FSB along with the break, I knock off the Fact compensator, pull the old FSB out... ream the New FSB a little (it looks like these barrels are a bit bigger then the 5.45 barrels so you will have to do some filing).....pressed in the new one welded a blind pin on the break, sand blasted the whole rifle ( the original coat is ugly and dull, & I'll tell yo why! their recievers are not totaly cleaned & smooth they are very ruff. after refinishing mine you can see that they have lots of scars) thats why in my opinion they coat them heavely. The next adventure is to put a tube stock on it just like the in this picture a bulgarian 5.56 AR-M9F:

Of course will pin opened the tube, but after the ban ...... :thumbup1: pins come off.....will keep you posted

Where do you plan to get a stock like that? The closest thing I have found to what is found on the AR-M9F is Ace's modular setup with one of their tube stocks and just from what I've casually read, it requires the removal of the lower tang.

Thats correct my friend ACE is the place......some times projects requiere some sacrifice, :boxing: in this case, tang has to go... also if I decide to really be BOLD I will remove both tangs and have my friend make me a smaller stock adapter than ACEE's this way it probably look much cleaner actually it will look like a Chinese 85S if you ever seen one...?

besides you can always install the lower tang back on the rifle again. this weekend is removal of the Lower tang I ordered the complete set up from ACE Friday I should get it Tues. or Weds.

I thought about putting one of those FSE stocks on a SA-M7 I had. My concern was how it would affect the balance. Does it make the rifle front heavy?

Well to me it makes it center heavy, as I grab the rifle it actually feels good to pick up you can feel the true weight of the Milled reciever....but thats my psersonal feeling. :dunno: ... I like it

But it does not make it front heavy.....

Thanks. Sounds like another option for me. I like the triangle look, but had been afraid of spending the money only to hate the balance change.

I like the mass of a milled receiver too. Hell, I really enjoy shouldering my Arsenal RPK-7 with a 75 round drum. I can't do it for too long, but that mass just feels good.
