Guys Just got done building my AMD65 Sweet. I did a screw build with and Ace 80% pre-bent receiver.

I just purchased a Saiga 20 guage and its grest fun to shoot. I am going to do a Pg converstion to it with a Nato length butstock.

I never really looked at the various versions of AK's before this and I am impressed with the Saiga receiver's strength.

I realize that it is beefed up for the 20 gauge.

My question is two part.

1. Does the Saiga sport rifle (762 x 39) have a stronger receiver than the ACE ?

2. If it does than why didn't veryone jsut convert the Saiga rifle?

Not sure about your questions..

But I can tell you that you better wait to see if the ban does not get renewed, before you do a PG conversion on that 20ga..

A PG detacthable mag shotgun is a no-no..

i was under the impression that I could do the pg conversion if I followed the same method as a Saiga rifle conversion. That is replacing 5 us parts with the pg.

Nope....... shotguns are different.

In fact, IF the AWB goes away, my first project ( after I unpin a couple of folding sticks) is going to be a PG conversion of a Saiga 12. Kalashnikov and 12 guage..... what a combo.

I was planning on waiting until the ban goes away. That law sure is confusing. I mean we can home build our own AK. even convert a saiga sport rifle but not the shotgun. I don't see where making those changes-Changes the fact that it is still a shotgun. It fundamentally hasn't changed other than a pistol grip added to it. anyway i have my fingers crossed and hope for it to go away.
