This is something Ive only recently begun to get into--sporting clays and trap. Its really alot of fun, but I am such a newb at the stuff, I dont know my arse from a modified choke.

Does anyone else on this board like to play with shotguns? Does anyone have any tips or tricks or stuff they wanna show off?

Should I siddown and shuddup?

Hell no, you can raise any issue you want. On this board we do not stiffel any kind of thought, idea, or common good sense good taste speach. My personal problem is. can you do sporting clays with at model 97 Trench Gun? (it worked well in WWI using Germans instead of clays)

a guy in summerfield[ just up the street] has a sporting clay - game preserve. Shane's sporting clays. he also works for remmington. he has 2 coarses and a pit that you can practice your weak side on. he's very reasonable, 17.50 per coarse or 30. for both. you supply your own shells.it's alot of fun getting the guys together and going out for an afternoon shoot. it's especially helpfull a few weeks before dove season.

There is even a game like Golf that is played over a course that I saw on TV a few years ago but I never found a "course " near my home. I'd like to shoot some clay targets, heck, I'd like shooting anything.

I began using a Mossberg Persuader, with a 20" barrel and a heat sheild. Boy did that suck. If I didnt fire instantly, Id never hit at all, or just chip the clay a bit. only had 20 yds of range. I traded it for a Remington Express Magnum. Much better now.
Plus I can hunt w/ it.

i started skeet last year with a NEF 12, full. never hit with it, switched to an old win 1200 and started blasting. shot a friend's remy 1100 semi and WOW. after 6 mo's of religious weekend shooting i am hooked. currently in iraq using mossberg security guns with local birdshot to take out bats!

I have a Winchester Model 12. Can anyone tell me how to break it down? I got a copy of instructions (incomplete) from Winchester, but they don't make sense.

It is probably a hunting gun. It is a long barrelled 16 guage, passed down from my Grandfather. Probably hasn't been shot in 50 years, or more.

although i said model 1200 in another post, it is actually a model 12, the discontinued one. i had to break it down for a faulty extractor awhile back. punch out the pin is all i did, but i do remember having my reservations. hope this helps. ( now what's the answer for the stripes quiz?)
