Some things to do before the Inauguration:

1. Spend quality time with your draft age child/grandchild.

2. Drink a nice clean glass of water.

3. Cash your social security check.

4. See a doctor of your own choosing.

5. Get that abortion you've always wanted.

6. Visit Syria, or any foreign country for that matter.

7. Get that gas mask you've been putting off buying.

8. Hoard gasoline.

9. Borrow books from library before they're banned - Constitutional law books, Catcher in the Rye, Harry Potter, Tropic of Cancer, etc.

10. If you have an idea for an art piece involving a crucifix - do it now.

11. Come out - then go back in - HURRY!

12. Jam in all the Alzheimer's stem cell research you can.

13. Stay out late before the curfews start.

14. Go see Bruce Springsteen before he has his "accident".

15. Go see Mount Rushmore before the Reagan addition.

16. Use the phrase - "you can't do that - this is America".

17. Take a walk in Yosemite, without being hit by a snowmobile or a base-jumper.

18. Enroll your kid in an accelerated art or music class.
19. Start your school day without a prayer.

20. Pass on the secrets of evolution to future generations.

21. Learn French.

22. Attend a commitment ceremony with your gay friends.

23. Take a factory tour anywhere in the US.

24. Try to take photographs of animals on the endangered species list.

25. Visit Florida before the polar ice caps melt.

26. Visit Nevada before it becomes radioactive.

27. Visit Alaska before "The Big Spill".

28. Visit Massachusetts while it is still a State.

This was great. Smeg, of course you know this was being monitored by those Homeland Security boys, right? Can I have some of your guns before you disappear? Oh, never mind, I will probably be in one of the new Federal Re-education centers. Oh wow, I hope its Auschwitz, Utah, I hear the weather is nice up there. I guess its just about time to activate the West Texas branch of our militia.

HEY! HEY! HEY! I resemble that remark...:lol:

Add to the list: Wave to a public school teacher before we are all unemployed. All them kids 'll be home-schooled.

Keep some of the old U.S. currency with historical figures on it, the new money will have Pat Robertson, Billy Graham, and Oral Roberts pictures taken during their "Monsters of Piety" Tour.

Boy that sure is nice to know that we are safe for 4more years and then we can take it all. When does Ronny's head go up I think I'll go see it before some DEM jumps off and spoils it. LMAO

I'll bet it will be just the opposite. Our new money will have "In God we trust" removed, the pictures on our current bills replaced with more politically correct pictures such as Martin Luther King , and warnings about smoking cigarettes, dangers of firearms, and wearing seatbelts.

Should I send you a dictionary as a Christmas present Mr. D.?

How uncommon of you.

To be frank about it, I am sick and tired of conservatives being painted solely moved by religious issues. Conservatives are all over the map when it comes to religion.

The left better get out of denial. They are making more enemies everyday.

I know lots of ultraconservatives that have never crossed the threshold of the church and have no intentions of starting.

I agree with you entirely. Saying that conservatives are motivated only by religion completely ignores their insatiable greed and lust for power.

Yeah, we know Kerry was motivated only by his love of his fellow man, and a desire to really help out his country, since the next depression is just around the corner.
Was the original post cut and pasted from DUng?

If you work the downtrodden over early and often, the lust for money and power is satiated at about 50.

Cammobunker, no, the original came from an e-mail. But beware "you're another" arguments such as that implicit in your post. Yes, Kerry was a puke. So? What Kerry is in no way discounts what Bush may be: The question at hand is what Bush may be.

Actually, I kinda like the list from a nonpolitical perspective, I thought it was funny. I especially liked the one about getting that abortion you always wanted.

Custer, thank you for the helpful hint. If one were to especially exploit the handicapped, I should think one could be satiated even before then. They take advantage of us, anyway: I found one the other day trying to park in one of our parking spots! Hah! Beat the hell out her and tipped over her wheel chair in the lot, she'll never do that again.

Hm.
Well, the point is, anybody would pretty much have to be an egotist to want to be president. The problem with a two party system is that you only get an either/or choice. Fewer people held their nose while voting for Bush, than held their nose while voting for Kerry.
And, I believe that Kerry is every bit as greedy and lustful for power (maybe moreso) than Bush.
This whole liberal northeastern/west coast line of "only ignorant, backwards, Jesus freak 1950 wannabes" voting for Bush just doesn't wash. People wanting to move to Canada or South America because Bush is going to be president for four years? How selfish! How childish! Adult temper tantrums.
I do not believe that a Bush administration will turn our country into a ecological disaster of a theocracy that encourages the destruction of forests, allows water to become undrinkable, or sees the end of all constitutional protections.
That said, we are watching him very, very carefully.......like all politicians, he is not to be trusted.

Cammobunker, I think a person would have to not only be an egotist to run for Prez, but also a complete fool who won't hesitate to hold his or her private life up for public scrutiny. As things stand now, I would propose that anyone who wants to run for President should be immediately disqualified.

And I ran across a definition of the two-party system of which I am very fond: A political system by which ways of addressing complicated issues are distilled down into two equally-unacceptable alternatives.

While it's not worth the risks that would be incurred in considering re-writing the Constitution, I do rather wish we had a parliamentary system.

Well, I don't quite know about that myself.

Maybe we could just skip to the Dictatorship of the Proletariat and be done with it.

Actually, maybe just a Fascist Dictatorship.
That way I could join some group that'd give me a cool uniform.

Well, as both the Russians and the Chinese are discovering, if you're into power-crazed oppression of the people, fascism works out just as well as communism. And there's more money in it.

And fascists do tend to have spiffy uniforms. I think the National Socialist form of fascism has the best costume design, myself. Do I get to be fuhrer, though? Since you're into cool uniforms, you can have Reichsluftfahrtminister.
