The people in Arizona, know you're boycotting us -- but you really should come out here and see our Beautiful Sonoran Desert. It's just gorgeous right now! We know you'd love it and maybe you can share what you saw with the rest of the country so they can love it too!
This is on an 'illegal super - highway' from Mexico to the USA (Tucson) used by human smugglers. This area is located in a wash, approximately 1.5 miles long, just south of Tucson, Arizona. If a flood came, all this would be washed to the river and then onto the sea!
It is estimated over 5,000 discarded backpacks are in this wash. Countless water containers, food wrappers, clothing, feces, including thousands of soiled baby diapers. And as you can see in this picture, fresh footprints leading right into it.
As we kept walking down the wash, we thought for sure it was going to end, but around every corner was more and more trash!
And of course the trail leading out of the wash in our city, heads directly NORTH to Tucson, then leads to your town tomorrow.
They've already come through here. Isn't Arizona just beautiful, America? Why would you boycott us???
Our desert has basically been turned into a landfill.

Arkansas is #1 in the nation for methamphetamine production. We used to be near the top for US-grown marijuana. The DEA and a couple of state "task forces" were powerless to stop it, apparently because actually *doing* anything required them to leave their air-conditioned offices in Little Rock.
The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission started getting reports of deer kills near marijuana fields. Less than a year later, commercial pot plantations were mostly gone - a bunch of druggies learned that, unlike the DEA, you really, *really* don't want to cross the Game & Fish Commission. So everyone switched to meth, where they could work inside the city limits where the Game & Fish guys don't operate.
Over in Arizona, it looks like someone in the Parks & Recreation (or whatever they call it) department needs to grow a pair. Trashing public land should fall smack in the middle of their mandate. They should have the authority to make arrests without bothering with any other Federal or state agenices.

Our border is war zone and building a fence won't solve it. Put up a vehicle barrier, the drug runners make a truck with a bailey bridge aparatus to create a bridge over the barrier that other trucks drive over right over it. Personel fences can be defeated simply by duck taping screw drivers to you shoe and shimying up it like spiderman.

What my State of Florida has done. Is made it very very difficult to get a drivers license as of the 1st of this year.
No longer can you just go in and turn in your old license and get a new one.
Now they want all kinds of documentation proving citizenship.
So simple. But hell it is a start.

There's nothing to stop the Governor, or for that matter various sheriffs, or even the legislature, from deputizing such citizens as seem suitable, policing the border, rounding up illegals, and putting them in jails, in concentration camps, or simply trucking them over the state line to make them someone else's problem.
Frankly that's a whole lot wimpier than my preferred plan, which involves wood chippers and plastic bags labeled "Soylent Green."
Theres a video on Fox News about a county in VA that passed a similar law (as AZ) 3 years ago. It requires that police ask anyone from a shoplifter on up what country they are a citizen of. They said that violent crime dropped by 38% and all the illegals moved to other countys, which caused their crime rates to jump. Now those other countys are scrambling to write their own laws.

When I got my Arkansas driver's license in 1972, they required your birth certificate or some government document that required a birth certificate for issuance - military ID, passport, etc.
A couple of years ago I was renewing my license plate and saw a sign describing the ID required for a new license. The list now includes naturalization or residency papers, parole or prison discharge papers, or sex change papers. The first were obvious. I guess the prisons want to know who you are, though it was less obvious. I'm at a loss for "sex change papers" - I thought you just hopped a flight to Denmark and proffered your Ultra Plutonium MasterCard to the clinic. I'm happy being a Bearded Patriarch, so it's not really a subject I'm up on...
My 1972 driver's license was a piece of thin cardboard with my name and information put on with a typewriter. Not even a picture. It got tattered in my wallet, so I ran it through one of those plastic laminator machines at a drugstore before it fell apart. My 2008 driver's license is hard plastic, laminated in more plastic, with a digital photo, a digitized copy of my thumbprint, a digitized copy of my signature (all stored online in Little Rock for comparison), a barcode, a hologram, and a magnetic stripe on the back. Nobody would tell me what was encoded on the mag stripe, so when I got home I passed the card through the Magnaflux magnet.
