We have a Muslim felon/terrorist in the dock and a judge with a triple-Jewish name. No matter how straight-arrow she is, when the case comes up for appeal - and that is practically guaranteed - the defense is going to try to get her decision thrown out in grounds of prejudice.
This whole trial is going to be a waste of time.
the sentence may be appealed but i'm not sure about the full trial thing. under a civil suit the guilty plea wouldn't matter but under common law the plea effectively ends any trial proceedings. i believe this is Federal.There has to be a trial whether you plead guilty or innocent. Then he'll be sentenced. The sentence can be appealed.
