I have posted photos of my tool a few times, I will describe it again for you. It is easy to make and easy to use REALY not to mention cheap. I start with 7/8" round but I am certain 1" round will work. cut it about 2" long you will need to grind out from the side just enough to clear the rail, it only needs to be deep enough for the round to set up against the side of the reciever. the notch has to be long enough for the round to go up and down as the rivet crushes. now do the same thing to the front of the round so it will fit around and under the cross support. If you use a hard round you can notch the other side to do all rivets with one tool, or you can grind out two tools. THAT IS IT. for makeing a tool. now to use it, it is best to do one rivet at a time and I start with the front ones then the middle two then the one in back last. I use a grinder to dimple a plate for the heads to set in , this helps to keep the head round. the dimples will need to be allmost at the edge of your press plate. this is nice but not required. put your rivet in the hole start to crush useing the tool. Important,,, as soon as the rivet starts to crush STOP, take the reciever back out and be shure the head is tight if not you can tap it in tight at this point, if you crush too far and it is not tight you will never get it in tight you will have to start over. I do this with ALL rivets check often prevents mistakes.
alternat method make the tool about 10" long so you can hold it this will alow you to hammer the rivets instead of press.. I think pressing is best but hammering CAREFULLY is fine too.
This is a very easy tool and should not cost more than a couple bucks at most. To me comming up with and makeing the tools is all part of the fun

now we are talking that sounds like a great idea.!!!! I love the ideas that can be done hear at home, it gives me more $$$$ to buy more kits

check out this link http://www.gunco.net/forums/showthread.php?t=167&highlight=bucking it has photos of my trigger rivet tool if you look . just a heads up, in the bottom photo the trigger rivet tool is upside down sorry. check it out anyone can do it . add the part hcpookie describes and you are allset.. this basicaly is what I described by dimppeling the press plate for the rivet heads to set in and the trigger guard will hang down the side wext to it. Just a note this tool is made from hard steal so it is tough enough to have both sides ground out but you could make a left and a right easy too. buy a 6" piece of round cut it in half and it could not cost more than a few bucks ..

I think a buck that small will deform .mushroom bend or if hard like a drill shatter. drill bits are cheap so try it. maby you can hanner on a 1/2" drill cut off after the twist. worth a try. HAY that is what this place is all about,, try something new and if it works well for you share it with evryone. A bunch of oppinions will possably then improve or refine it. so a big try it and let us know!!!
