This may be the end of the Maysville shoots.

It turns out that the local PD ( in the last mounth ) has dumped lotsa $ into that range and made it half nice. Even has big lights now so they can shoot at night.

Here is the problem, some assholes have been shooting out the lights and blowing holes in the little storage building, and making a real mess of the place. :scared:

So for the actions of these jackasses we may not get to shoot there anymore. :sorry:

Since I know a good portion of the ex-officers and a few of the new guys, and being somewhat aquainted w/ the chief of police. I am going to pull out all the stops and TRY TRY TRY to get permision to go back there.....

Wish me luck. BTW: I do know of another private range and I am going to look into that one. ( I know the guy from church )

 :scared:  :scared:  :scared:

That is sad to hear. Just when we have a good thing going some a$$ messes it up for the rest of us. I hope you get the green light on future shoots there.

If we did not do it then what is to say they will not let us shoot there? One can only hope for the best.

I'd be willing to pony up money for future shoots if that is an issue. If we chipped in $10 -$15 a piece it might show the Maysvile police we are serious shooters not bent on destryong their range.

The money could be donated to a police charity possibly?

Just a thought?

That sounds fair for the range time. I would give money to go shooting at there range if need be.

On another note...........................

My Dad's lifelong buddy who still lives here in Cincy about 10 miles from me and has several hundred acres. My Dad and I are going shooting there on the 4th of July and he has said I could come and shoot anytime. He's very cool and sort of the outlaw bikler type with quite a nice weapons collection himself.

I'll scope the situation out and see if he's cool with a bunch of us shooting there in a group. Maybe a late July shoot?

Where at? I don't know of any ranges or shops around there?
At the ball fields. I think that is 128 there. The instructors rented the lodge there for the class and actually set up a small pistol range on site backed up by a hill and the river.

Shooting qualification is 21 feet.

Sounds good to me. I like motorcycles but I am not an outlaw bike but I can fake it. I have guns and a Sportster. He sounds cool to me. :woot:

He's a cool dude and not at all what you expect. He looks like a biker Santa Claus style. Then you find out he's got 17th century antiques from Asia along stuff from all over the world. Did I mention he has a collection of restored early 50's front engine dragsters? He's one of the most eclectic people I ever met.

I'd be willing to give a donation, I've only been to two shoots so far but they're great fun and I'm always itching to go back :) The drive down to Maysville makes for a great day out :headspin:

I'll have good directions and we'll meet somewhere like we do for Maysville.

If everything goes okay and he let's us have a shoot it's a very easy location not far from I-74 and he's on a main road one turn off the highway.

My Dad and I are going shooting there tomorrow morning and I'll take pics of the range to see if it will do for us.
