Has anyone purchased one of the Wasr3s from Century? I missed out on the SAR3 thing (sometimes my consevative tendency gets the best of me). I am thinking about getting one and putting a folding stock on it after the ban sunsets. Kind of a private ban sunset celebration . Jack

I would love to get one of the low caps at $199 and then do the high cap conversion on it. Have you heard if they are in country yet or if they are just advertising them?

I'd like one if they keep 'em in the $200 range for the single stacks. Never done a conversion but it can't be too difficult. Probably won't be buying any guns for quite awhile but it's nice to see some fresh options on the market.:thumbup1:

Harlan,
Are you going to have both low and hi cap versions? Also do you know the price FAC is going to sell them for? Reason i am asking is that the ffl i go through already has a copy of the ffl on file with FAC.

I got an email, explaining that they were going to be getting quite a few different variations along with a couple of different calibers this go round. They were in the same similar price range.

Never done it my self, but I'm guessing that all it takes is opening the mag well a bit more to accept the hi cap mags. I recall seeing a thread on the other board but don't remember its content. It would too expensive for a manufacturer to do more. Jack

Was century inport these WARS and make to high cap ?
From what I understand, Century imports WASRs and makes them high cap.

I also was under the impression that the single stack converted WASR's needed more US parts. And, at one point, some one made a mistake and sent the single stack WASR's out with the correct US parts count. So, you were able to by the low cap and then do the conversion and be good to go on the parts count. That was a while back though.

from what I have read on other gun boards - the pistol grip wasr's have us parts already, but the dragunov style stocked wasr's don't - hopefully someone can confirm or deny if this is true or not.

Jack,

I'll call my dealer friend today & see if he has an update on the shipping schedule. As I said earlier, I have one of each coming. I'll post the findings tonight when I get home.
PS: I'll be riding the Deuce today.

WASR 2 & 3 update

Scubadvr,

First off, shame on you for missing the SAR3's. Now for the update.......
Dealer told me today they are to be shipped any day now. They are hi caps.
He tried to get more info on them, but the person he talked to either couldn't, or wouldn't give specific info on the recievers. He had an interesting question, are they 7.62 with a changed smaller bore, or the mag wells cut out, or sar2 or 3 recievers. We'll know soon, said he'd call as soon as he had more info. I'm still in for one of each, so far.
PS: The Deuce ride was wonderful, just not long enough. :thumbup1: :thumbup1: :thumbup1:

Ron, I will talk with my rep at Century. He is a pretty nice guy and I hope give me more information for us. Is that Duce a 05? How is the new Springer? Jack
