meh. This has been talked to death before on shotgun forums. Can't beat lead slugs/buckshot. Don't see those going away any time soon. So why bother. Unless of course you want to kill plastic appliances like old computer equipment like in the video :)

Thanks for the reply :) I thought, I might have asked something I shouldn't have.

a buddy loaded a few up and we tested them out... I understand the concept. my biggest problem with them is.. if they get hot they can melt.. not a good plan in my opinion.. for that reason.. B2B

Cut shells are far easier and effective. You cut through the outer layer of the shell all but a little bit in the compression section of the wad.

I tried different stuff when I was using my Mec600jr in 12ga. I ordered foster and sabot molds from Lyman about 25 years ago.

if you have no bullets? sure use toilet paper slugs if you have to....

im just not sure this is a good way to go...

now days if you rock salt somebody your going to jail for malicious wounding... cant figure this would be any different. if your gonna shoot someone, you better intend to kill them.

Cut shells Can,, and Will damage a gun,,eventually and to varying degrees, it's been tested a ton of times and is a proven fact. There a no no unless you want to eat metal. I've seen myself on 3 occasions where shotguns have gone boom from them. You want to take the chance ,,knock yourself out,,possibly literally,,, but I sure won't.

Wax slugs are much safer and no real issue if there left in the shot wad "cups", with plain flat wads your going to get wax fouling. They end up being basically a "Glasser slug" if left in he "cups". Good for inside close up use, otherwise stick with the tried and true unless you just don't give a damn if you live or don't mind being blinded or mangled. You're call.

One of those 3 booms I refereed to ,, the guy ended up permanently and badly disfigured and blind, so use cut shells if you wish,,but from experiences I've witnessed ,,,,,I certainly won't be.

Of the 2 other incidents I witnessed, one guy got off with some minor injuries to his hand, and the other got off with just a stinging hand and busted gun, but all 3 guns were toast afterwards. The 2 that just blew the barrel, looked like something you'd see in a cartoon, the 3rd blew in a million pieces,,half of which ended being imbedded in that guys face, and basically ripped the guys face off,, so you be the judge if you want to take that chance.
