ok here is the question , what kind of fool would run an engine lathe with one hand all bandaged up over third degre burns??? what kind of fool?? indeed a fool that has been sitting for WAY TOO LONG. A fool that had to do SOMETHING, it did not matter what.
OK you can guess who,,, I put a big rubber glove on over the hand to keep it clean. {the nurse was not happy about the cutting fluid in the bandages yesterday}I played around for a while and got my barrrel extention about 80 % finished. this has not been anything like a vacation, it has SUCKED and hard. pain itch and the couch . WTF I had to do something. the plastic surgin did say NO WELDING, and no leather gloves. maby in a few weeks, I have not even tried my newest welder. well enough boo hoo I guess.
Some of you guys have realy helped me in this most dificult time. you know who you are :thumbup1:

Hotbarrel! I saw the pictures of the barrel extension! Great work! Especially for someone with one hand tied up behind his back! Please be careful of you injured hand! You don't want that wound to get infected! (Bad! Very Bad!) Not going crazy while sitting around waiting to heal....GOOD! VERY GOOD!

I can just picture in my mind you with a TIG welding torch in you hand way too soon! Don't do it buddy!

Yours,
Thumb Clip Pull Pin

PS It had to be hard as hell taking those snaps of the barrel extension with your left hand!

Don't over do it Hotbarrel. A couple of years ago, I broke my right wrist and a week after I was in a cast I cut the cast away betwween my thumb and fore finger so I could still ride my Harley, and hold a drill. I then proceeded to re drywall my entire living room. I thought I was being slick, but when I went to have the cast removed, I was told it hadn't healed and wound up with another one for 6 more weeks and a slightly deformed wrist. I know it's hard to not keep busy, but some times it is for our own good. ak'sr4me

Very good advice, but we all know HB won?t stop. It?s like a disease, a gun needs some work and you?ve got to do it or die trying. One thing though is that if the hand starts to sweat in that rubber glove STOP and take it off and rest till it?s dry again. The sweating will give germs a foothold and infection will soon follow, I know from experience.
