Wow they sure know what they want for that dont they.Thats just a little bit more than Im gonna spend for just an action. Im looking to make a bolt action 45/70 but I guess I dont need one that bad. I got a good chek Mauser action I can have altered and barreled in 458 Mag cheaper than half of what they want for that Siamese.

I do mostly Mauser work but I'm not familiar with barreling for the 45/70. Sounds really interesting. Is there a reason for using the Siamese action?

The boltface needs no modification, and only minor fitting of the extractor if at all. The Siamese action makes a great 45-70 boltgun. I had one about 20 years ago and sold it to a friend who loves it. So much so that he refuses to sell it back.

Gibbs Rifle Company made a 45-70 bolt action rifle. There's was from an Enfield. They have a web site but it appears to be inactive now.
