Anyone care to suggest where I can get a really good kit to put together?

I like the AMD65 but would consider a different kit just as long as it is in really god condition and has matching serial#'s. (Don't suggeast Tapco. See my other post)
Thanks from a Newbie

Centerfire systems has good kits from time to time.

Lois from Centerfire post here quite often and she will give you good customer service. I've always had great luck with her.

This is Lois' page for Centerfire.

Centerfire is always my first choice (go through Lois) and besides the 65 kits they still have the AMD 63 which is more like a conventional AK. Don't forget K-VAR they have some 74s that are pretty nice. Last take a look at Interordnance they have advertised some Romanian kits (some reports indicate mixed numbers).

Personally, one of the guys here, Scott, has DPH Arms and he is gathering interest on some awsome 74 kits. Check out his web site, or send him an email.

Hope this helps, Jack

Yea, its if you want an AMD 65, its hard to pass up the price Centerfire Systems is giving.
What scubadvr said!! CFS has some great deals but the best thing is that the Hungarian kits tend to be in great condition (not the 'shooter grade' cheap ones) and tend to be well made. That translates into easier builds.

I agree with Sangrun and Scuba. If you are looking for a 7.62 you should go to Centerfire and call Lois, if you want a '74(5.45) then check out DPH Arms. I've purchased stuff from both places and they are both great to deal with!!!

I'll speak up and vouch for the rest of the guys here, Lois does take care of her customers and their kits all the numbers do match . I bought 5 kits from her and all the parts are there and nothing is bent or dented up , good quality for the price . I did splurge and bought one "new" kit in the bunch and I'm quite satisfied with the condition of it .the used ones are as advertised ,showing normal wear in the expected spots and overall in great shape

you guys might think I'm foolish, but I bought the Bulgie thumbhole stock kit from Lois, and it is BEAUTIFUL!
the wood is the best I've ever seen, and there isn't so much as a finger print on these. you need to buy trunnions, and make minor mods to the stock for a stamped rear tang, but a super nice kit for the money. Each part is wrapped in oilskin and numbered, and it even comes with a scope rail. regular 23mm trunnions will do, so don't let the "milled" scare you off. one nice kit. I polished the bolt and carrier, and will be making my own receiver from stainless for it to give it a unique look.
Anything I've bought from centerfire has been top shelf, and Lois is the best!

AK74

What's the best AK-74S kit? I see that Guns n Stuff has em for $269 - includes a mag, bayo, sling, etc.. Good price? This is the bulgy one with "triangle" folder.

Also, besides 7.62x39's jig (e-mail sent  ) and a receiver rivet jig, what other jigs would I need to build one on say, a OOW complete receiver?

TIA
