i got the picture a few yrs go. i believe it is a russian prototype for use in trench warfare. they said it shot but the barrel only lasted 5-6 hundred rounds I think. too much friction, who would have thought.

If I remember correctly, I believe that it was designed for use in a tank. I saw the same pic when I started researching AK's last fall before I did my first build.

Looks like a copy of the german 'krumelauft'(spelling), used for shooting around corners. They did use them but never accomplished what they wanted for the time it took to develop it.

I think the designer of that contraption should double check the mushrooms he used for the sauce:w00t1: :lolup:

mom's dad had a grease gun that worked the same way, and was used for cleaning krauts out of the danish streetscape. he said it was smoothbore, and of course, being a grease gun it was easy to replace the barrel.
