Why buy American?

This is why. Catch your own fish, kill your own meat, grow your own food. Most our food comes from other country's and you don't know what they do to it.
Think that fish at the story is safe???? Think again. Check this out

Those people don't care if they poison us! When you live in some third world shit-hole you'd sell your sister for cash-some do!
I like fish.I plan on doing some fishing this weekend with the kids.
Well it looks like we won't be eating any more fish around here...
Wanna really get sick.
In Asia they put screens over the fish ponds. Then they raise chickens on the screens. Do the math. Guess what the fish are eating.
As if the US had a stellar record with its food production.

Ever hear of Mad Cow disease? Cows were fed actual cow by products, including brains. Cows are herbivores not carnivores.

Equally disgustingis the fact that cows were being fed chicken manure. YEP THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS CHICKEN MANURE. So the next time you bite into that tasty, juicy, suculent steak, remember that.

Factory cows in some places never make it out to pasture they are raised confined in barns or in small fenced in corrals.

Let's talk about chickens. There was a post about chickens shitting into a fish tank and the fish eating it and then the fish being eaten by people. Guess what? Most chickens in the country are factory farmed. They live in a little cage, never get out and shit on their downstairs neighbor. Yummy. Maybe that's the extra crispy kind!

Or how about the massive amounts of drugs that are used in livestock farming? Anti-biotics, growth hormones, and more. Honestly where do you think those go when you eat that meat? Damn straight skippy, right inside your body and your kid's bodies too. I don't think it is any coincidence that childhood diseases are on the upswing. How many of you over 50 here new anyone with "Allergies" when you were a kid? Or "Asthma"? I knew one kid with asthma when I was a kid. Now it is everywhere. Pay attention to how many kids carry inhalers today. Or how many are so allergic to things like peanuts that we can't have them, and in some cases peanut butter, in school lunches anymore.

My point? We, in this country, in some cases are no better, and sometimes dramatically worse, than other parts of the world in what we do to our food during production.

Wellllllll, now that you mention it....

Seriously, as a kid I worked in a grocery store, as young adult I worked in a cheese factory and a canning company. Believe me, you really don't want to know the contamination that is allowed in packaged food.

My fiancee and I are beginning to grow more of our own food and by next year we will have our own cows and chickens. I truly believe that many of the ills of today are directly linked to our food. Most of us can, even some city dwellers, grow at least a portion of our own food.

I recommend strongly a book titled "Every thing I want to do is illegal" by Joel Salitan. It is about his struggles as a natural farmer against the USDA and factory farms to bring good wholesome food back to the American public.

As long as you let it set in the milk for a little before eating it, otherwise you'll cut the roof of your mouth :D

I want to, but it's very hard to find anything made or grown here anymore.

Exactly why I buy Beef and pork from the local farms. I can ask my neighbor all about his cows and another about his pigs. I have my own chickens and usually catch my own fish.
The kids problems (other than weight from the growth hormones) come from not playing outside. The majority just sit in front of a TV and play video games or watch the tube. We never stayed inside if it was possible to get out. Air conditioning is another cause of breathing problems. You can't build an immunity to something you never come in contact with! JMO
Here is a little film on the state of our food
