Michael Moore's View of America

Democrats once again discuss secession.

Jeffersonian Democracy occurs when there is government by consent. In his first inaugural address, President Jefferson urged citizens to hold their government accountable and invited them to dissolve the Union if it failed them. During the War of 1812, delegates from several New England States met to consider whether to secede from the Union. After southern States announced secession, President Buchannon approved a Constitutional Amendment which would deny a right of secession. His proposed Thirteenth Amendment would protect the institution of slavery from Federal government in return. Lincoln did not follow Jeffersonian Democracy. He unleashed armies to unseat duly elected governments, forcing States back into the "Union." We had government by force, rather than consent.

It is ironic that Democrats were responsible for the secession of 1860, and Democrat leaders are again discussing it. Democrat Strategist Bob Beckell suggested that southern secession would be okay "now that the slavery thing had been taken care of." Former Democrat Vice Presidential nominee, Geraldine Ferraro, publicly envisioned secession by so-called "Blue States," which she said would deny the remainder of the country all of the creative and productive people. Michael Moore painted his own map! (above)

Politically, southern secession would be advantageous to the Democrat Party. Dixie now stands in their path of political dominance. If only the South were gone, Democrats could keep the rest of "Jesusland" without risk to their agenda.

It's just talk, but to hear "sophisticated" liberals reflect over the benefits of secession does provide a chuckle or two.

Don't even give him California. It has been the ultraliberal media that gave him the metro centers in that state. If they had the truth, they may vote different. That meaning, CBS should be looked at as similar to the National Inquirer. That maybe even scandeless toward the National Inquirer. Bottom line, Dan (the f--ken liar) Rather should be tarred and feathered on a new reality TV program called "This is what happens to freaken liars".

No reason for the Democratic Socialists to secede. We could just buy Sudan and let Hanoi Jane and John lead the way. Michael Moore would have to paint another map. Of course, all of our socialist/communist sympathizers might find the climate a little hot and dry but it would sure beat Canada in the winter. Besides, it would be a lot easier for them to stick their heads in the sand in Sudan than in the frozen soil in Canada. If cost is a problem, I for one would be happy to chip in for their one way ticket. A great side benefit would be that we could again regain the Democratic Party for good, decent Americans who truly love our country and our form of government.

Why do they think that Canada would want them. Sure the Canadians are socialist but they are not whiners.

I think that the secession of the "Blue" states would be the best thing that could happen to the "Red" states. If that happened the "Red" states could get back to running the country like the founding fathers wanted it to run. The "Blue" states with all their superior intellect people would then starve to death since most of the food comes from the "Red" states.

I for one hope these "National Socialist" do get the hell out.

fal_shooter, there is truth in what you say. I met an older NRA Election Volunteer Coordinator whowas in NY City when their power went out for a day or two. He laughed at how the city people couldn' cope with not having electricity. He had no problem, just used common sense and down-home ingenuity.

LOL! But most California counties are Red!

I really wonder how many Blue votes are real, anyway? I'm for a National Voter ID card and a paper trail.

Unfortunately, California has the highest agricultural output than any other state in the country (by a long shot)... bad news if it falls into the ocean!

Nah, we'd just redivert the Colorado River to States where it originally flowed.

The analogy to the Civil War no longer holds up.

No state can survive without Uncle Sugar's unlimited power to tax, spend and borrow.

Has anyone caught this map? It breaks the election down by counties. The Dems wouldn't have even "Kerried" California had it not been for LA and San Francisco.
