I have a post ban? non threaded barrel romy wasr. Talking to a guy about trading it for his super black hawk. even trade, seem fair? Both guns show regular wear on the blueing, these are not museum pieces. Consider both shooters. thanks.

I'd try to find out the rough value of the pistol and find out if they have common problems that need to be looked out for.
I don't think it's a bad deal
Super black hawk's especially the early one - 50's 60's vintage are very collectible. Other than that I'de say it's a even trade. Ammo is not cheap for 44's unless you reload.
For damned sure it's an even trade.

I'd go so far as to say the Blackhawk owner is gettin' the dirty end of the stick¹

Sounds like a great deal to me. If you reload, you can load light lead loads for the Blackhawk cheap and still have the luxury of using hot loads for hunting or long range shooting. 44 mag / special has been a favorite of mine since the first time I shot one. Wish I could find a trade like that - and I already have 2 44 mags.
the revolver is a new model, I got a email back and the guy is having second thoughts. jim
I have bought one box of factory 44 loads. Thats what prompted me to start reloading. I own two S&W 44's a 29 and a 629. I have been deer hunting with them for almost 20 years now.
I would value the revolver higher, but if you both happy with the deal, that's all that matters.
