On top of that DimwiT keeps threatening us with legal action for stealing his content.
All of the pic URL's were changed when I got banned, which means the only way they can still be visible, is if asshat downloaded them before banning me.
Meaning that is all stolen info.

Stuff like that is one reason I keep as much content on my website as possible. To be honest, I never leave Gunco except when I'm feeling generous and wanting to share information.

When I first started looking into building AK's, that site was the only one I found that had any information (I didn't know it was you who had provided it)and it was free at the time. So when they asked for money to help the site I donated. I didn't know what ^%#@^$()*%$ they were until being invited to come here.

I wish I knew then what I know now....

They should pay you guy's who provided all the build info so that their site would prosper.

I'm just glad that Gunco.net is operational.

I know that we all visit different forums, I have no problem with that, I do it myself.
I think that the AK section at ARF.COM (ak47.net, no hyphen) and AKfiles at FAL files are great sites.
I visit and even at both places. I see a lot of familiar names at both.
I support them both and they have been supportive of us.

I was very surprised to see that 4 of our regular members were praising goonsnet in that thread, and even more surprised that they were silver, gold and even platinum contributors.

I can understand being held hostage and paying the $20 bronze fee, to have full access to the forum.
But the one silver $50, two golds at $100 ea, and one platinum $250. means collectively dweeb bent these 4 guys over for a total of $500.

I hold no ill will, and they will certainly always be welcome here.
But for the life of me, I can not understand why they would pony up $500 for that idiot, and then join into a thread encouraging others to do the same.

Well, let me throw in my two cents.

I try to stay out of the board wars. I try to ignore the ownership issues and focus on enjoying the members. Will this work for me in the future? Don't know.

I have gotten a lot out of that site from technical information to friendships and banter. Some friendly, some heated. It did not bother me a bit to throw a few bucks into the kitty. Will I pay in the future? Not sure. Time will tell.

I also enjoy visiting here and seeing old friends, some who are banned, some who moved on and others who post at both sites.

Agreed. Info like this should be free. Help the guy footing the monthly bill, by all means, but don't force the issue. The user-supported donation-ware format works.

Well, like I said, there is a right way and a wrong way to achieve a goal. Slapping me in the face without warning, ain't gonna win my heart or mind or my cash.

As many people know I was banned and have been called some not so nice things over that issue.

Some have no idea about why and what has happened to many of the people banned over there. Some, when they find out are shocked and they don't even believe it. That's the way it is in politics too and we have to just go on even when we've been done wrong.

There are so many people there that have been banned and the list is looooonnnnggg.

With all that said I gave him $100 over 2 years. I even paid my Dad's $20 so he could keep seeing the BIY forum when it went pay. When he banned me he banned my Dad too and my Dad's login was never used except to test a first post and browse. I was blind for a while too.

It's his decision to do what he does and he will keep doing it as I know many people including myself who tried in a very nice manner to let him know he was making people mad.

After the latest little incident I'm done arguing about it or fighting about it. He can keep harassing me and doing whatever. He's done it to FALfiles, AR15, and others. He'll do it to others until he runs it into the ground or comes to his senses.
