When Germany was invading Russia, the Russian women were given M38's and and M44's (the 91/30 being too long and heavy) and they fought alongside the men. For those who have not fired the 38 and 44, the recoil can only be described as "unpleasant" at best. Most guys I let shoot them are handing them back after about 3 rounds. GG
