Maybe round the bullet guide, but I don't know, that might wreck it.

Sort of the same thing as M-4 feed ramps on a AR, they'll feed SP and HP ammo better than standard feed ramps, because they are cut deeper into the receiver. The standard feed ramps grab the soft point, or the hollowpoint and push the bullet into the case, because they just start where the tip of the bullet hits them, so half of the bullet's tip is on the feed ramp, and the rest is stuck into the junction between the barrel extension and the upper receiver...

there are a few things. the Mag height could be wrong. I have beeen adding material to the feed ramp edge and extending it as far back as possable to aid the feeding of soft points. I also champer the barrel very slightly on some.. Id have to see your perticulatr gun see what its doing. Pull the cover and cycle it slowly by hand and see what is doing. is it hitting the bottom of the barrel and not sliding nto the chamber? to high of a mag cancause that or two low of a bullet guide. if it is barley catching the barrel a light champer can help it. DO NOT GO VERY FAR INTO THE BARREL JUST ROUND THE EDGE.

if it slips over the bullet guide ok but hits the barrel solidly and a champher wont help it then you can possably rise the edge of the gude up and or extend it toward the mag some buy welding additonal metal onto it. you may also be able to add a thicker selector stop under the trigger guard or a shim to angle the back of the mag down and kick the bullet end of the round up. all f this will reguire some major work other than ramping the barrel slightly.

I do a lot of work on these on my hunting stuff and varmit AK,s to prevent bullet tip deformation with soft points but it is also why a hollow point will jam. the point flat point will not ride over the edge of the barrel. My varmit 223 build has problems with hollow points.

Try a few differant mags first some mags are better than others .

it brings the HP round out and hits it flush with the bottom of the barrel, jamming it
how close is it from going into the chamber when that happens??

If it is tight at the edge a light champer/ ramping may be all it needs. you cant do much or it will wreak the barrel but the edge can be rounded and very slightly champher with no issues. adjusting the feed lips on a mag may get it to work as well as mentioned above may work as well

Run 100 to 200 rounds of FMJ through it before you start tweaking things. I had a SAR-3 that took about 150 rounds to settle down and function with everything. The first thing you do on any semi-auto with feeding issues is change magazines and see if the problem goes away. I wouldn't sweat malfunctions with HP until you have broke the gun in.
